Congratulations to Rosemary Pease on breeding Annecdote, winner of the Oak Tree Stakes at Goodwood, a highly recommended mating between her mare May Fox and Lucky Story.
Congratulations to our Australasian agent Louis Mihalyka on the win of his homebred Rebel Dane in the Group 1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes at Caulfield, Melbourne on Sunday 29th September.
Rebel Dane is the product of three generations of Brain matings, and the first Group winner in the family for over 20 years. He has now won 6 of 10 starts, including a Group 1, Group 2 and a Group 3.
Congratulations to owner Jon Aisbitt, trainer Mick Channon, and jockey Martin Harley, on the fine win of Jon’s horse Elidor in the King George V Stakes at Royal Ascot today (20/06/2013).
Brain International analysed the mating which produced Elidor as a sales yearling for Jon, rating 158 ***
Lack of time has resulted in our being much behind with updating this website. In the interim, before compiling a comprehensive update, we submit this story from our agent in Sydney which contains details of one of the more successful “Brain”matings of the last couple of years.
“Some years ago, Patrick Brain wrote an article on Ribot [click here to see the article] detailing how a series of five compatible matings over 50 years culminated in the first classic winner in the family for those five generations, when Ribot was produced.
After three consecutive generations of compatible matings since Laurel Oak became Australasian agent to Brain International in 1992, Rebel Dane [California Dane out of Texarkana] has been produced.
10 days ago Rebel Dane made it four wins out of four, in winning the Group 2 Royal Sovereign Stakes in Sydney.
Last Saturday Rebel Dane was beaten a short head by last year’s Golden slipper winner Pierro on a heavy track in the Group 2 Hobartville stakes over 1400m on a heavy track in Sydney.
Rebel Dane is now expected to go for the Guineas in two weeks time”.
The list of compatibly mated results in the following news updates consists of those City winners, Black Type winners and Black Type placegetters that we are aware of that were identified SPECIFICALLY TO CLIENTS (as part of broodmare or yearling analysis work), either BEFORE CONCEPTION or BEFORE SALE AS A YEARLING.
The pre-conception or pre-sale timing of analysis work is testimony to the predictive powers of Brain Pedigree Analysis given the frequency of successful performers relative to the small percentage of the Australian thoroughbred population that has actually been analysed let alone identified as compatible or recommended. In addition to the horses listed, there are many other successful horses that are compatibly mated that were not subject to analysis request by clients.
There has been a number of highlights in the current 2011/2012 season amongst horses that were identified specifically to clients as part of broodmare or yearling analysis, either before conception or before sale as a yearling.
Other horses deserving of mention identified after they started racing are:
